About the Video
In the first episode of our thought-provoking series, ART+TECHNOLOGY we delve into the mind of revolutionary digital artist Memo Akten. This bold, inquisitive artist uses artificial intelligence to explore deep learning and expressive human-machine interaction. Memo’s award-winning art includes “Learning to See”, which uses machine learning algorithms to reflect back the input received with images it has been trained to see. Can AI only see what it already knows, just like us? Most poignantly, “can AI be biased?”

About the Program
In 2018, Hyundai Motor extended its partnership with Bloomberg to produce “ART + TECHNOLOGY,” a video series exploring science and technology, and how the breakthroughs impact contemporary art and everyday life. The series spans multiple seasons, with a new area of focus each year, including robotics, the blockchain, and AI. Our partnership with Bloomberg creates opportunities for audiences worldwide to connect across boundaries by engaging with art and new ideas. New episodes of “ART + TECHNOLOGY” will continue to be released through Spring 2024, available to stream for free online along with our first Bloomberg series, “Brilliant Ideas.”
