About Tate
In 2014, Hyundai Motor and Tate announced an unprecedented 11-year partnership, marking the most extensive collaboration in the museum’s history. Our commitment began with the support of the acquisition of nine works by the Korean artist Nam June Paik. In 2015, we launched the Hyundai Commission, an annual series of site-specific installations by international artists in Tate Modern's Turbine Hall whose interpretation of the space has revolutionized public perceptions of contemporary art. Our partnership expanded in 2019 with the Hyundai Tate Research Centre: Transnational, a global research initiative focusing on global exchanges of artists and their ideas, with a vision to offer new perspectives on global art histories by highlighting exchanges beyond countries of origin. Our partnership with Tate is founded around the shared commitment towards providing global audiences new ways to access, understand, and experience art.
